Agnes Stradner
Co-founder/ Violine
Agnes Stradner can be heard as a chamber musician and concertmaster of the Bach Consort Vienna at concerts and festivals worldwide as well as on numerous CDs and music videos.
Born into a Viennese family of musicians, she received her musical formation in Vienna, Detmold and Berlin with Gerhard Schulz (Alban Berg Quartet), Young Uck Kim (Beaux Arts Trio), Ulf Wallin (Cherubini Quartet) and Eberhard Feltz, among others. Surrounded by old instruments since her childhood, she soon specialized in the baroque violin.
Her heart beats for chamber music. She brings artists together with particular dedication, creates concert series and often combines music with literature or dance in diverse concert programs.
The solo and chamber music concerts have taken her through Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Her current projects include the trio sonatas and fugues by J. S. Bach as well as the virtuoso chamber music of the Austrian Baroque.
In addition to the Bach Consort Wien, she works with other renowned original sound ensembles such as the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, the Balthasar Neumann Ensemble, the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, Les Musiciens du Louvre and Les Musiciens du Prince, Monte Carlo. She has made numerous recordings under the direction of René Jacobs, Ton Koopman, Alan Curtis and Marc Minkowski and has performed in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Agnes Stradner leads a violin class and the baroque ensemble of the Early Music Department at the Döbling Music School in Vienna and gives master classes and workshops for baroque violin, performance practice and chamber music.
She plays a violin made by Giovanni Battista Grancino in 1699.
